ABOUT US

Being affected by films of northern sleddogs of the '90-ies and by a Tv interview with a Hungarian sportsman who used Alaskan Malamutes, I totally
fell in love with this beautiful breed. We started going to dogshows to see and meet the breed in person. Even at this time I concentrated
on buying a puppy only out of parents who are free of hip dysplasia, because in the Malamute stock of that time
there were examples for this illness. In 1995 we bought our first Malamute, who had a wonderful personality. Unfortunately, we lost him too early
but thanks to his breeder, we could buy his littermate, Murphy who has lived with us since then.
Actually, we got to really know this breed with all the beauty and characteristics of it through Murphy. We took him to some dogshows, too.
However, the major breakthrough in the chain of our dogshow success started with Windy (HCH, HGCH, HJCH BOG BIS 3, Baby BIS ICY WILD IS THE WIND).
Besides these results, Windy has several champion and junior champion offsprings, and she still helps us a lot with bringing up our puppies
who aren't whelped by her. For me, she is the dog of temperament whom I look for in a Malamute. Against our will, finally, she didn't become
our foundation bitch because we didn't succeed to keep a female puppy of hers. However, maybe fate decided otherwise,
and wanted that my long desired American import dog should be a very pretty Malamute girl, HJCH WILD WIND HANAMI, 'Prisca'.
Prisca arrived from one of the US topkennels, the more than 30 years old Wild Wind kennel. Prisca's first litter was born in 2007 sired by
USA import, CH Atanik's Kuskokwim Incognito. These puppies are beautiful and have excellent temperament, and hopefully they're the future of
Winanga kennel. Our aim is to preserve this wonderful breed and to have and breed healthy, beautiful dogs of excellent temperament. We endeavour to have
puppies only when there's a possibility for exceptional connection and when we're sure that we find good owners for the puppies.
Winanga Malamute kennel is a family affair, everybody takes part in work and has their own task.
Now Winanga Malamutes live in different parts of the world including Austria, Norway and the USA.
